Ramrod Test #1

Your wing is providing air cover for a flight a B-26 Marauders on a medium level bomb run. The target is a critical railyard junction in Normandy France. Destroying the railyard will block all train travel towards the coast for weeks. Approximately 50 km from the target you spot six Bf 109s headed towards the bombers. Ten of your Spitfires respond, and the result is a messy dogfight with planes flying and shooting in all directions. Meanwhile the bombers are continuing to fly south to the target.

What should you do?

A. Call your fighters back. Your main mission is to protect the bombers, and the mission isn't half completed yet. Detail two pairs to keep an eye on the 109s in case they follow you.

b. Continue the mission with half of the escorts still fighting with the 109s. Shooting down every German plane is important

c. Radio Ops Control to send in more escorts, then fly back to help your buddies.
